Helsinki harbour
Löyly, a public sauna and restaurant on a former industrial shore, has been open all year since 2016. Allas Sea Pool, with a heated seawater pool and saunas in the harbour, opened the same year and had 142,000 visitors in 2017.
This is the picture GoBeach works toward: the coast from Sarpi to Anaklia as one whole. Its year has six seasons of its own, and each one opens up new possibilities along every metre of shoreline.
Six seasons, each with its own weather and its own events in nature. Travellers already plan by the month: 28% of travellers from eight key European markets intend to move their trips to other months, mainly to escape crowds and summer heat.
The idea of naming a place's own seasons comes from communities that live by them. Fogo Island in Canada recognises seven, from pack ice in March to berry season in autumn.
Batumi lives in every season, and each other place takes its role from its nature.
The first table shows the coast as it lives today, mostly in one season, and the second shows it tomorrow, when every place lives in all six.
48combinations that give rise to countless ideas

Dutch beach pavilions used to come down every autumn. The state has allowed year-round operation since 1998, Bergen wrote its own terms in 2009 with opening at least four days a week, and by 2019 the coast had 164 pavilions working all year.
The town treats November to March as storm season. Lodges offer ocean-view rooms and spas for watching storms, and people walk the beaches after a storm to see what the sea brought in.
In February 2021 the regional government and Startup Madeira opened a Digital Nomad Village in a small coastal town, with free workspace and daily events for people who stay at least a month.
Opened in May 2012, the path runs about 1,400 km along the whole coast of Wales. In its first year 2.8 million people walked sections of it.
The island lives by seven seasons its community recognises. Fogo Island Inn, opened in 2013 by the Shorefast charity, reinvests its profits in the island.
The coast meets all their daily needs, all year round.
They are no longer tied to summer and come up with ideas together with neighbours whose formats complement their own.
Their quiet months fill when their spas and pools open to the coast as its winter venues.
Vibrant life and development allow them to shape a strong new identity.
